I have a pet peeve. People misuse data all the time. Friends on Facebook, journalists, politicians – everyone. Sometimes they bend the data to fit their agenda. Other times the data is complex, and they attempt to simplify it into a digestible tidbit (and utterly fail at doing so). And still other times, they use data to purposefully mislead, if not outright lie. Rarely will someone actually read the underlying studies behind popularly quoted statistics. This is my attempt to do something about that.
